University Halls Move-In FAQ

Frequently asked questions about arriving at university-owned halls at the start of term. These answers apply to catered and self-catered blocks on the main campus.

What time can I collect my room keys on move-in day?

Official answer: key collection opens at 14:00 on the Sunday of Welcome Week, not before. Students who arrive earlier must wait in the arrivals marquee until reception opens.

Bring photo ID and your room allocation confirmation. Keys are not released to parents or friends without a signed proxy form uploaded in advance.

Can I move boxes into my room before the official move-in date?

Official answer: students with summer research contracts may access rooms from the Monday of move-in week at 09:00 if they have written approval from the accommodation office.

Standard first-year arrivals without summer contracts must still wait until their published key-collection window opens.
