University Halls Move-In FAQ

Frequently asked questions about arriving at university-owned halls at the start of term. These answers apply to catered and self-catered blocks on the main campus.

What time can I collect my room keys on move-in day?

Official answer: key collection opens at 10:00 on the Saturday before Welcome Week lectures begin. Present your student ID and accommodation offer letter at the receptions desk listed on your arrival email.

Arrive within your allocated 30-minute slot to avoid queues at busy blocks. Late arrivals after 18:00 must use the out-of-hours phone number on the reception door.

Can I move boxes into my room before the official move-in date?

Official answer: early access is not permitted. Storage lockers in the arrivals hall are available on a first-come basis on move-in day only.

Courier deliveries addressed to halls before your contract start date will be refused at reception and returned to sender.
